Most people will be aware that there has been a large increase in power enhancing products for vehicles with electronic engine control systems.

For years petrol vehicles were the ones that benefited from this technology, but now, because diesel engines are much more advanced, in fact more so than their petrol equivalents, we have 'plug and play' computers that can make dramatic differences in engine performance to most common rail diesel engines.

On average you can see a 25% increase in torque and power on most engines. Add to this better driveability and decreased fuel consumption. Most 'plug and play' boxes can be fitted in around half an hour.

Here are a few examples of how effective these devices can be:

PSA HDI l.4 8v - Power from 68 to 90 BHP / Torque from 150 to 200 Nm
PSA HDI 1.6 16v - Power from 110 to 136 BHP / Torque from 240 to290 Nm
PSA HDI 2.0 8v - Power from 90 to 115 BHP / Torque from 205 to 253 Nm
PSA HDI 2.2 16v - Power from 133 to 170 BHP / Torque from 314 to 364 Nm
PSA HDI 2.7 V6 - Power from 204 to 235 BHP / Torque from 440 to 505 Nm
PSA HDI 2.8 - Power from 128 to160 BHP /Torque from 300 to 380 Nm
